Effective: 2 July 2026  •  Last Updated: 3 July 2026

These terms apply to bookings made directly with TourYemen. Please read them carefully before confirming a booking.

1. About TourYemen

TourYemen is a Yemen-based tour operator arranging private and group tours in Mainland Yemen and Socotra.

Depending on the selected tour, our services may include local transportation, accommodation, meals, guides, airport assistance, visa support, security clearances, local permits, airline reservations, activities, and other ground arrangements described in your itinerary or booking confirmation.

2. Booking Eligibility and Acceptance

You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking.

The person making a booking confirms that they:

  • Are authorised to book on behalf of every traveler included in the reservation;
  • Have provided accurate and complete traveler information;
  • Have shared these terms with every traveler included in the booking; and
  • Accept responsibility for communicating payments, itinerary details, entry requirements, and operational updates to the other travelers.

A booking is not confirmed until TourYemen has:

  • Confirmed availability;
  • Accepted the booking;
  • Received the required payment; and
  • Issued written confirmation.

TourYemen may decline a booking before confirmation when required services, permits, flights, accommodation, security arrangements, or other essential components are unavailable.

3. Prices and Payments

Tour prices are based on the services, group size, room arrangements, travel dates, and other conditions shown in the quotation or booking confirmation.

Unless your quotation states otherwise, a deposit equal to 50% of the tour price is required to confirm the booking.

Visa fees, flight-ticket costs, permit charges, or other third-party expenses may be payable in full before the tour price is due.

The remaining balance must be paid by the deadline stated in your booking confirmation. When TourYemen has agreed in writing that the remaining tour cost may be paid upon arrival, that written arrangement will apply.

A booking may be cancelled if a required payment is not received by the stated deadline.

Prices may change before a booking is confirmed. Once a booking has been confirmed, TourYemen will not increase the agreed land-tour price unless:

  • The traveler requests a change;
  • The number of travelers changes;
  • A new tax, government fee, permit charge, or mandatory supplier charge is introduced;
  • Incorrect information was used to calculate the original price; or
  • The booking confirmation clearly allows a specific adjustment.

Any proposed adjustment will be explained before additional payment is requested.

4. Passports, Visas and Security Approvals

Travelers are responsible for holding a valid passport and satisfying the entry, transit, health, and immigration requirements that apply to their nationality and itinerary.

TourYemen may assist with:

  • Yemen tourist visas;
  • Socotra entry approvals;
  • Security clearances;
  • Local travel permits;
  • Airline passenger approvals; and
  • Other travel authorisations.

TourYemen cannot guarantee that a visa, permit, security clearance, airline approval, or entry permission will be granted. Final decisions are made by the relevant government, immigration, security, aviation, or other competent authority.

Travelers must provide requested passport copies and other documents by the stated deadline. Delays or refusals caused by incomplete, inaccurate, expired, or late documentation are the traveler’s responsibility.

Once a visa, permit, or approval application has been submitted or processing has started, the related fee is non-refundable unless the relevant authority returns the payment to TourYemen.

If an application is refused or delayed by an authority, the normal cancellation terms will apply to the remaining tour services.

5. Yemenia Airways and Other Flight Reservations

Yemenia Airways reservations are not generally available through a normal online customer-booking system. When included in the agreed service, TourYemen will arrange the reservation and ticket manually on the traveler’s behalf.

TourYemen does not charge a separate service fee for arranging these tickets unless a fee is stated in the quotation.

Flight reservations are subject to seat availability and airline acceptance. Availability confirmation may take approximately three to four working days.

Ticket issuance is also a manual process and may take up to four working days after the required payment and traveler information have been received.

When the requested flight is unavailable, TourYemen will offer available alternatives. The traveler may:

  • Accept a different travel date or flight;
  • Amend the tour dates, subject to availability; or
  • Cancel and receive a refund of the amount paid specifically for services that could not be confirmed.

Visa fees, bank charges, or other third-party costs already incurred may remain non-refundable.

Flight schedules, routes, operating days, baggage allowances, and fares are controlled by the airline and may change without notice.

When an itinerary travels through Saudi Arabia, Egypt, or another transit country, the traveler is responsible for checking and obtaining any required transit or entry visa.

6. Changes Requested by the Traveler

All date-change requests must be submitted to TourYemen in writing.

A requested change is not confirmed until TourYemen has approved it in writing and any applicable fees or fare differences have been paid.

More than 60 days before departure

One change of tour date may be made without a TourYemen change fee, subject to availability.

The traveler remains responsible for:

  • Airline change charges;
  • Any increase in airfare;
  • Visa or permit reprocessing costs;
  • Non-refundable supplier charges; and
  • Any increase in the price of the replacement tour.

Between 11 and 60 days before departure

A TourYemen change fee of USD 300 per traveler will apply.

The traveler must also pay any airline fees, fare differences, visa costs, permit charges, hotel penalties, or other supplier costs resulting from the change.

Ten days or fewer before departure

Tour dates cannot normally be changed within ten days of departure.

A traveler who cannot travel will need to make a new booking. Amounts paid for the original booking will be handled under the cancellation terms below.

Availability of replacement dates

Date changes depend on flights, accommodation, permits, security approvals, guides, vehicles, and other operational arrangements.

TourYemen does not guarantee that the same price, itinerary, accommodation, or services will be available on the replacement date.

7. Cancellation by the Traveler

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. The cancellation date is the date on which TourYemen receives the written request.

Cancellation charges reflect work already completed, reserved capacity, supplier commitments, and costs that may not be recoverable.

More than 60 days before departure

TourYemen will refund the land-tour amount paid, less a USD 350 cancellation fee per traveler.

Visa, permit, flight, bank, payment-processing, and other non-refundable third-party charges will also be deducted.

Between 11 and 60 days before departure

Fifty percent of the land-tour price is non-refundable.

Any refundable balance will be calculated after deducting:

  • Visa and permit fees already incurred;
  • Airline cancellation charges;
  • Non-refundable accommodation or supplier payments;
  • Payment-processing and bank charges; and
  • Other costs committed specifically for the booking.

Travelers may request a date change instead, subject to Section 6.

Ten days or fewer before departure

The land-tour price is non-refundable when cancellation is made ten days or fewer before departure.

Any flight refund will depend on the airline’s rules and the amount actually returned by the airline.

No-show, late arrival or early departure

No refund is available when a traveler:

  • Does not arrive for the tour;
  • Misses a flight or transfer;
  • Arrives after the tour has started;
  • Voluntarily leaves before the tour ends; or
  • Cannot participate because of missing documents, denied boarding, immigration refusal, personal circumstances, or failure to follow instructions.

TourYemen will make reasonable efforts to assist, but any additional transport, accommodation, flight, permit, or operational cost must be paid by the traveler.

8. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be returned using bank transfer or another method agreed by TourYemen.

The refundable amount may be reduced by:

  • A non-refundable payment-processing or banking charge of up to 6%, where that cost was incurred;
  • A USD 42 international SWIFT transfer fee when applicable;
  • Currency-conversion differences;
  • Airline or supplier cancellation charges;
  • Visa or permit expenses already incurred; and
  • Other deductions expressly permitted under these terms.

TourYemen will normally initiate an approved refund within 30 days after:

  • The refundable amount has been calculated;
  • Required banking details have been received; and
  • Any relevant refund has been received from the airline or supplier.

International transfers may take additional time to reach the traveler’s account. TourYemen is not responsible for delays caused by intermediary banks, receiving banks, airlines, authorities, or payment providers.

When an airline cancels a flight and authorises a full refund, TourYemen will pass on the full airline-ticket amount actually returned by the airline. Bank or transfer charges outside the ticket amount may still apply.

9. Changes or Cancellation by TourYemen

TourYemen may make reasonable changes to an itinerary when necessary because of:

  • Weather or road conditions;
  • Flight changes;
  • Security instructions;
  • Government or local-authority requirements;
  • Permit restrictions;
  • Accommodation availability;
  • Safety concerns;
  • Supplier failure;
  • Events beyond TourYemen’s reasonable control; or
  • Other operational circumstances.

TourYemen will try to preserve the overall character and value of the tour. A destination, hotel, activity, route, or service may be replaced with a reasonably comparable alternative where necessary.

A minor itinerary change does not automatically entitle the traveler to cancel or receive a refund.

When TourYemen makes a significant change before departure, the traveler will be offered, where reasonably possible:

  • The revised arrangements;
  • A suitable alternative tour or departure date; or
  • Cancellation with a refund of the amount paid for the affected TourYemen services, subject to recoverable third-party costs and applicable law.

Cancellation by TourYemen for operational reasons

If TourYemen cancels a confirmed tour for a reason within its reasonable control and the traveler does not accept an alternative, TourYemen will refund the amount paid for TourYemen-operated services that will not be provided.

Flight, visa, permit, bank, and other third-party amounts will be refunded to the extent that TourYemen recovers those amounts from the relevant provider or authority.

Extraordinary circumstances

TourYemen may suspend, change, postpone, or cancel a tour because of extraordinary circumstances that could not reasonably be avoided.

These may include:

  • Armed conflict or serious security incidents;
  • Government restrictions;
  • Border or airport closures;
  • Epidemics or public-health emergencies;
  • Natural disasters;
  • Severe weather;
  • Civil unrest;
  • Airline suspension;
  • Fuel shortages;
  • Major infrastructure failure; or
  • Similar events outside TourYemen’s reasonable control.

TourYemen will offer a reasonable alternative, travel credit, postponement, or refund based on the services that remain recoverable and the mandatory law applicable to the booking.

TourYemen is not responsible for consequential expenses such as international flights, hotels outside the TourYemen itinerary, lost income, visa costs for another country, or other independent arrangements.

10. Flight Disruption and Additional Days

Airlines control their schedules, aircraft, routes, ticket rules, delays, and cancellations. TourYemen is not responsible for an airline’s operational decision.

Cancellation before the tour begins

If the flight required to begin a Mainland Yemen or Socotra tour is cancelled and the tour cannot proceed, TourYemen will allow the traveler to move the land tour to another available date without the normal TourYemen date-change fee.

Airline charges, fare differences, visa reprocessing costs, and other supplier expenses may still apply.

The replacement tour may take place later in the same season or during a future operating season, subject to availability, permits, security arrangements, and any price difference.

Cancellation or delay after arrival

If a return flight is cancelled or delayed and the traveler must remain in Mainland Yemen or Socotra beyond the scheduled tour, TourYemen will provide reasonable assistance with:

  • Accommodation;
  • Local transportation;
  • Meals;
  • An English-speaking guide or coordinator;
  • Starlink or other available internet access; and
  • Local operational support.

These additional services are not included in the original tour price.

TourYemen will charge the actual and reasonable cost of the additional arrangements and will communicate the expected cost as soon as reasonably possible.

Travelers should claim eligible disruption expenses through their travel insurer or airline.

11. Health, Safety and Travel Insurance

Travelers are responsible for assessing whether they are physically and medically able to participate in the selected itinerary.

Relevant medical conditions, allergies, dietary restrictions, mobility limitations, or accessibility requirements should be disclosed before booking or as soon as they become known.

TourYemen may decline or limit participation in an activity when reasonably necessary to protect the traveler, other participants, staff, suppliers, or the public.

Travelers must follow lawful safety, security, cultural, environmental, and operational instructions provided by TourYemen guides, drivers, escorts, authorities, and suppliers.

Travel in Mainland Yemen and Socotra may involve:

  • Remote locations;
  • Limited medical facilities;
  • Long road journeys;
  • Camping or basic accommodation;
  • Changing weather;
  • Flight disruption;
  • Restricted routes;
  • Security procedures; and
  • Activities with inherent physical risks.

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended from the date of booking.

Travelers should verify that their policy covers:

  • Yemen and Socotra;
  • Emergency medical treatment;
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation;
  • Trip cancellation and interruption;
  • Flight delays or cancellations;
  • Lost or delayed baggage;
  • Personal liability;
  • Planned outdoor, marine, diving, hiking, or camping activities; and
  • Government travel-advisory restrictions that may affect coverage.

TourYemen is not responsible when an insurer declines a claim or when the traveler purchases insufficient or unsuitable coverage.

12. Traveler Conduct

TourYemen may remove a traveler from a tour when their conduct:

  • Creates a safety or security risk;
  • Is abusive, threatening, unlawful, or seriously disruptive;
  • Endangers another person;
  • Damages property;
  • Repeatedly disregards guide or authority instructions; or
  • Prevents the tour from operating properly.

A traveler removed for these reasons will not be entitled to a refund and will be responsible for the cost of alternative accommodation, transport, flights, fines, damage, or other resulting expenses.

13. Third-Party Suppliers

TourYemen arranges services provided by airlines, hotels, campsites, transport operators, activity providers, guides, restaurants, government authorities, and other independent suppliers.

These providers may operate under their own terms, policies, schedules, and legal responsibilities.

TourYemen will use reasonable care when selecting and coordinating suppliers. However, TourYemen does not control every action or decision of an independent airline, authority, bank, hotel, or service provider.

Nothing in this section excludes any responsibility that TourYemen is legally required to accept as a package organiser or travel-service provider under mandatory applicable law.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TourYemen is not responsible for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses;
  • Loss of income, business, opportunity, or enjoyment;
  • Independent travel arrangements not purchased from TourYemen;
  • Acts or omissions of government, immigration, security, aviation, or border authorities;
  • Airline delays, cancellations, denied boarding, schedule changes, or baggage handling;
  • Events outside TourYemen’s reasonable control;
  • A traveler’s failure to follow instructions or obtain required documents;
  • Undisclosed medical, dietary, mobility, or accessibility needs; or
  • Loss arising from the traveler’s unlawful, negligent, or reckless conduct.

Where TourYemen is legally liable for a direct financial loss, liability will be limited to the amount paid to TourYemen for the affected service, except where a greater amount is required by mandatory law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or any death, personal injury, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Complaints

Travelers should report a problem to their TourYemen guide or representative as soon as it occurs so that TourYemen has a reasonable opportunity to address it during the tour.

A complaint that cannot be resolved during the trip should be submitted in writing within 30 days after the tour ends.

The complaint should include:

  • The booking name;
  • Tour dates;
  • A clear description of the issue;
  • Relevant photographs, documents, or receipts; and
  • The requested resolution.

TourYemen will review the complaint and respond within a reasonable period.

16. Website Use and Intellectual Property

The TourYemen website may be used only for lawful purposes.

Travel information on the website is provided in good faith but may change because of flight schedules, government requirements, security arrangements, weather, supplier availability, or other operational conditions.

Website content, including text, itineraries, branding, graphics, and original photographs, may not be copied, republished, or commercially used without TourYemen’s written permission, except where permitted by law.

Use of the website is also subject to TourYemen’s Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms and any booking made directly with TourYemen are governed by the laws of the Republic of Yemen, except where mandatory consumer law in the traveler’s country applies and cannot legally be excluded.

The parties should first attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith written communication.

Subject to any mandatory right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes that cannot be resolved will fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Yemen.

18. Changes to These Terms

The terms applying to a confirmed booking are generally the terms accepted on the date the booking was made.

TourYemen may update these website terms for future bookings by publishing a revised version and changing the “Last updated” date.

A later website update will not normally change an existing confirmed booking unless:

  • The traveler agrees to the change;
  • The change is required by law;
  • A government or authority imposes a new requirement; or
  • The original booking terms expressly permit the change.
